Mangaluru: Illegal sand mining – 5 boats seized during raid

Mangaluru: A joint operation by the Mines and Revenue Departments on Saturday led to the seizure of boats involved in illegal sand mining along the Gurupura-Phalguni River.
The raid, conducted under the guidance of Mangaluru Sub-Divisional Officer Harshavardhan, resulted in the confiscation of five boats, one motor, and a gas cylinder used in the illegal activity.
The operation was carried out by a team including Tahsildar Prashant Patil and Geologist Girish Mohan from the Mines Department, along with other officials.
