Illegal Goa liquor seized in Bola village: One arrested

The Excise Department has apprehended Prashanth Suvarna, a resident of Adi Udupi, in connection with the large-scale seizure of illegal Goa liquor in Bola village. Acting on intelligence, the Excise Department, with assistance from the police, detained the accused at the Karwar bus station while he was traveling from Udupi to Karwar. He was later presented in the Udupi court, which remanded him to judicial custody.
The operation, led by Excise Deputy Commissioner Bindushree, uncovered 2,360.850 liters of Goa liquor hidden in 272 cartons. The contraband was concealed at two locations: Avani Nilya house in Abbanadka and Marimaru Guthu house, both situated in Bola village.
While Prashanth Suvarna has been taken into custody, another accused, Avinash Mallige from Bola village, remains at large. Authorities have intensified the search to locate and apprehend him. The investigation is ongoing.
