Ambulance carrying deceased Naxal’s body veers off road in Hebri

In a minor mishap, an ambulance carrying the body of Vikram Gowda, a Naxal who was shot dead in an alleged encounter with the Anti-Naxal Force (ANF), veered off the road into a roadside ditch near Hebri-Kudlu road on Wednesday, November 20. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.

Vikram Gowda’s body was handed over to his siblings, Suresh Gowda and Suguna after the post-mortem examination conducted at KMC Hospital, Manipal today morning. The ambulance was en route to Kudlu, the family’s native village near Hebri, with Suresh Gowda accompanying the body.

According to reports, the accident occurred when a cow suddenly crossed the road, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle. The ambulance slid into a roadside ditch.

District Superintendent of Police, Dr. K. Arun, confirmed that no injuries were sustained in the mishap.

Local residents promptly gathered at the scene and helped push the ambulance back onto the road. T
