The Karnataka High Court on Thursday heard actor Darshan’s bail plea in connection with the Renukaswamy murder case. Darshan had applied for bail citing health issues related to severe back pain.
The hearing took place before a single bench presided over by Justice Vishwajit Shetty. During the proceedings, Special Public Prosecutor Prasanna Kumar argued that the medical report presented by the defense had not been shared with the prosecution.
The court granted Darshan interim bail for six weeks with certain conditions. However, it was noted that the date for his required surgery had not yet been finalized. Darshan’s legal team submitted copies of his medical report to both the court and the SPP.
The next hearing on the bail application is scheduled for November 26.
Darshan, who was previously lodged in the Ballari Jail, had sought bail due to severe back pain that required medical attention. His legal counsel argued that immediate surgery was necessary, following which the High Court granted interim bail on medical grounds.
Currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bengaluru, Darshan has yet to undergo the surgery despite three weeks of medical bail. This delay has led the police to consider moving the Supreme Court to seek cancellation of his interim bail.
Meanwhile, additional charges have been filed in the case, and the investigation continues.
