Kaup: Former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake announced that a massive awareness rally and campaign titled “Save the Constitution” will be organized in Kaup on November 26 to commemorate the day the Indian Constitution was presented to the nation. The event is led by the Rakshanapur Javaner Organization.

Addressing a press conference at the Kaup Press Club on Saturday, Sorake released a brochure with details about the awareness rally.

The campaign will span across the Kaup Assembly constituency, with an open invitation to the public to join the rally and awareness drive. Organizers will distribute brochures at temples, churches, and mosques, encouraging participation from various institutions and groups. Over 5,000 participants from across the constituency are expected to attend. In remembrance of the Constitution’s presentation, sarees will be distributed to 3,000 women, Sorake added.

The rally aims to highlight the importance of the Constitution in safeguarding national security, civil rights, and duties. Sorake expressed concern over recent challenges and misinformation campaigns threatening the Constitution. The program seeks to raise awareness about the Constitution’s purpose, citizens’ rights, and the need for economic and social independence, he said.

The awareness rally will commence at 3 PM, followed by a massive public gathering in Kaup at 4 PM. Religious leaders representing three faiths will inaugurate the event. Noted speakers, including Niketh Raj, Sudheer Kumar Muroli, Jayaprakash Hegde, Dalit activist Sundar Master, and Anand Brahmavar, will address the gathering.

The press meet was attended by Kaup Block Congress President Naveenchandra Suvarna, Udupi District Congress Vice President Kaup Divakar Shetty, Udupi District Minority Unit President Sharafuddin Sheikh, Kaup Block Women’s Congress President Shantalatha Shetty, Rakshanapur Javaner Organization President Naveen Shetty Padubidri, and Dalit Sangha leader Shekhar Hejmadi.
