Ullal: Auto-rickshaw accident near Konaje claims driver’s life

Ullala: A 50-year-old man was killed in an autorickshaw accident near Konaje Kalkar on Sunday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Narayana Gatti, a resident of Manjanthadka in Kumbla. Narayana had traveled in a private rickshaw to attend a relative’s birthday celebration near Kumbla Adka.

He was on his way to drop off relatives to Konaje Kalkar when the accident occurred. The rickshaw reportedly lost control due to brake failure while descending a slope in the Kalkar area, crashing into a tree.

A woman, her son, and another passenger inside the rickshaw sustained minor injuries.

Narayana Gatti is survived by his wife and two sons.

A case has been registered at the Mangaluru South Traffic Police Station.
