Puttur: Police have arrested three individuals, including the prime accused, in connection with the abandonment of a labourer’s body by the roadside at Salmara Keremoole.
The incident took place on November 16, when the deceased, identified as Shivappa, was transported in a pickup vehicle and left near the road close to his house in Salmara Keremoole. The accused, including Shivappa’s employer Henry Tauro, allegedly committed this act after the laborer’s death.
Following the incident, a case under the SC/ST Atrocities Act was registered. Initially, the police arrested one accused, Stany ‘Mestri’. However, based on further investigation, Henry Tauro, his son Kiran, and an assistant named Prakash were also arrested.
Earlier, the Adi Dravida organization had filed a complaint against Kiran Tauro, the son of the prime accused, and demanded a thorough investigation into the matter.
The arrest of Henry Tauro came after protests were staged by the Adi Dravida Samaja Seva Sangha on November 22, demanding swift action and justice for the victim.
