Bengaluru: The High Court has deferred the hearing on the bail plea of Darshan, an accused in the Renukaswamy murder case, to Thursday, November 28. Advocate CV Nagesh, representing Darshan, presented his arguments on Tuesday (Nov 26).

Advocate Nagesh highlighted several significant points during his arguments on Tuesday afternoon, reiterating them during the evening session as well.

Referring to the police’s claim of finding bloodstains on Darshan’s clothes, Nagesh argued that testimony of Sushilamma, who washed the clothes, had been recorded. According to her, A3 Pavan had instructed her to wash the clothes, which were cleaned on June 10 using detergent. “Scientifically, washing clothes thoroughly with detergent would remove any bloodstains,” he asserted.

Nagesh further alleged that Darshan’s money, seized by the police, was being used as evidence against him. He questioned the claim that Rs 38 lakh had been collected from Mohan Raj before the murder, asking whether such an amount could be intentionally gathered in advance for the crime.

Regarding phone records, Nagesh argued that Darshan had made calls to his driver, manager, and staff, but a majority of the calls were to A3 Pavan. He pointed out that Darshan had not contacted others extensively, contrary to police claims.

After hearing the arguments, Justice Vishwajith Shetty adjourned the hearing to Thursday, citing time constraints.
