Karkala: College student drowns at Durga falls

A leisure trip turned tragic for a group of college students when one of them drowned at Durga Falls on Thursday afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Joyal Dias (19), a B.Com student at Milagres College, Kallianpur, Udupi.
Joyal, along with six friends, had visited Durga Falls for an outing. While playing in the water, he reportedly lost his footing and was swept away by the current.
Police from the Karkala Rural Station rushed to the spot and are conducting further investigations into the incident.
