A security guard working for a private news channel lost his life after being hit by an unidentified bike near the main road in Kengeri Upanagara. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening near Hoysala Circle.
The deceased has been identified as Shivayogi (52), a native of Gadag district. He had been residing with his family in Krishnanagar near Kengeri Upanagara for the past 25 years and worked as a security guard at a private news channel office, police said.
While crossing the road, Shivayogi was struck by the bike, resulting in injuries to his limbs and internal bleeding in the head. Local residents assisted him by giving water and helping him sit by the roadside.
An injured Shivayogi lay down near a tree by the roadside and spent the night there. Tragically, he passed away by morning. Locals noticed his death and informed the police on Wednesday morning.
Neglect Blamed for Fatality
Authorities stated that Shivayogi could have survived if he had received timely medical attention. The biker fled the scene after the accident, and locals failed to take Shivayogi to the hospital. Efforts are ongoing to identify the bike rider through CCTV footage from the area. A case has been registered at the Kengeri Traffic Police Station, and the investigation is underway.
