Mangaluru: Members of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal staged a protest on Friday (Nov 29) in front of the Mini Vidhana Soudha, Mangaluru, demanding the release of religious leader Chinmoy Krishnadas Prabhu, who has been arrested in Bangladesh. The protestors also urged the Bangladesh government to ensure the safety and protection of Hindus in the country.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. M.B. Puranik, President of the VHP’s Karnataka South Region, alleged that there is an ongoing conspiracy to drive Hindus out of Bangladesh. He highlighted that the ISKCON organization, which was founded to promote global peace, has earned the love of people worldwide for its service to the underprivileged.
He condemned the arrest of ISKCON monks in Bangladesh without any valid reason, accusing the government and judiciary there of being hostile towards the minority Hindu community.
He demanded that Hindus in Bangladesh be allowed to live peacefully and warned that the Bangladesh government would be held accountable for any repercussions if the arrested individuals are not released unconditionally.
Prominent figures such as Maṇila Shri Mohanadas Swamiji, ISKCON’s Premabhakti Prabhu, Vidyananda Saraswati Swamiji of Om Shree Matha, ISKCON’s Sachidananda Advaita Das, and others, including Gopal Kuttar, H.K. Purushotham, Krishna Prasanna, Shivananda Mendon, Polali Giri Prakash Tantri, Bhujanga Kulal, Puneet Attavara, Sharan Pumpwell, Ganesh Poduval, Shakeela Kava, and Premananda Shetty, participated in the protest.
