Udupi: “This institution, born in the land of Amrit, offers the nectar of knowledge,” said Sri Vidyasagara Teertha Swamiji of Sri Krishnapura Matha during the inauguration of the Amrit Mahotsava of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) College on Friday (Nov 29).
Speaking at the event, Swamiji said, “The qualities of this land, the vision of the founders, and their efficient administration make it unsurprising that this institution is celebrating its Amrit Mahotsava.”
He added, “There are two paths to achievement: the path of karma and the path of knowledge. While the path of karma leads to ephemeral heavenly pleasures, the path of knowledge grants eternal liberation. By continuously imparting such profound knowledge, this institution has earned the right to celebrate this milestone. May it grow further in stature and celebrate its centenary soon.”
MLA Yashpal Suvarna remarked, “The Manipal group of institutions has added beauty to the name of Udupi. These institutions have elevated Udupi’s reputation to great heights. This college deserves praise for shaping thousands of students who contribute to the nation’s future.”
