Bengaluru: Renowned actress Shobitha Shivanna, known for her role in the popular Kannada TV serial Brahmagantu and films like Eradondla Mooru, ATM, and Ondu Kathe Helala, was found dead in Hyderabad in an apparent suicide, sources revealed.

Originally hailing from Sakaleshpur in Hassan district, Shobitha had recently acted in the movie First Day First Show. Her involvement in films reduced after her marriage two years ago, and she had settled in Hyderabad with her husband.

The reason behind her tragic step remains unclear. The incident is suspected to have occurred on Saturday night (Nov 30). What adds to the mystery is that she had posted a story on her social media account earlier that day, showing no signs of distress.

Shobitha had distanced herself from the entertainment industry after her marriage. Following the post-mortem, her body is expected to be brought to Bengaluru for the final rites.

Her untimely demise has left the Kannada film and TV fraternity in shock, with many actors and colleagues expressing their condolences.
