Tumakuru: 3 dead, over 20 injured as bus overturns on NH48

Tumakuru: A tragic accident occurred early Monday near Chikkanahalli Bridge in Sira taluk, Tumakuru district, when a private bus overturned, resulting in the death of three women and injuries to over 20 passengers.

The private bus, en route from Bengaluru to Goa, overturned on National Highway 48 after the driver reportedly lost control.

The injured passengers were initially treated at a local government hospital. Those requiring advanced medical care were shifted to Siddaganga Private Hospital in Tumakuru.

Investigation Underway

Local police and district authorities promptly reached the accident site. Tumakuru District Superintendent of Police, K.V. Ashok, conducted an inspection of the scene.

A case has been registered at the Kallambella Police Station, and further investigations are ongoing. The identities of the deceased are yet to be confirmed.
