Bengaluru: A case filed against BJP MLA Munirathna at the Nandini Layout Police Station, involving allegations of honey-trapping and conspiracy to murder, is likely to be transferred to the Special Investigation Team (SIT), sources said.
Former BBMP member Narayanaswamy has lodged a complaint against Munirathna, accusing him of issuing life threats, hiring contract killers, and harassment. Following the complaint, an FIR has been registered at the Nandini Layout Police Station.
Previously, four cases were registered against Munirathna—two at Vyalikaval Police Station and two at Kaggalipura Police Station. The state government has already formed an SIT to investigate these cases.
The latest case from Nandini Layout may also be brought under the SIT’s purview, sources said.
The SIT has completed its investigation into a caste-based slur case against Munirathna and filed a charge sheet in the Special Court for People’s Representatives. Investigations into cases of life threats to contractors and monetary demands, as well as an alleged rape case, are ongoing. Charge sheets in these cases are expected to be filed soon.
