Belthangady: Body of man who drowned in Netravati River recovered

Belthangady: The body of a man who drowned in the Netravati River at Kudige, Belalu village, on Monday evening was recovered late at night.
The deceased has been identified as Prasad (38), a resident of Suruli Kundadka in Belalu village. Reports indicate that he entered the river around 5-6 PM for unknown reasons and subsequently went missing.
The Fire and Emergency Services and members of the Shaurya Disaster Management Team responded to the scene.
Expert diver Ishwar Malpe was informed about the incident. However, it was local diver Ismail from Sanjaya Nagar in Beltangady, along with the Fire and Emergency Services personnel, who retrieved the body around 11 PM.
Prasad, who served as a publicist for a social organization for five years and was currently the district coordinator of Dharma Jagarana in Puttur, was well-known in the area.
Arrangements have been made for the public to pay their final respects on Tuesday between 11 AM and 1 PM at his native village in Belalu. The body is presently kept at the mortuary of the Beltangady Government Hospital.
