Ankola: 6-yo boy dies after iron gate falls on him

In a tragic incident reported from Kanasegadde in Ankola, a six-year-old boy was killed after an iron gate fell on him while he was playing.
The deceased child identified as Ajaan Sheikh, a resident of Kanasegadde was a student at a local Urdu-medium school.
The mishap reportedly took place when he was playing with his classmates near the gate of his house in the evening. The iron gate fell on the boy after the lock on the gate broke.
The child was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Ankola for treatment. However, despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries on the way to a hospital in Manipal. He was pronounced dead near Honnavar.
A case has been registered at the Ankola Police Station, and further investigations are underway.
