Puttur: Incident of vandalism at Naga temple; One detained

A case of vandalism at the Naga Devata temple near the Nellikatte private bus stand occurred on the night of Wednesday, December 4. Police have taken the accused into custody following swift action by local residents.
The accused, identified as Salam from Jidekallu, allegedly caused damage to the temple’s premises.
According to eyewitnesses, the individual attempted to dismantle the iron grills installed around the temple and entered the premises. Alert locals noticed the act, apprehended the accused on the spot, and handed him over to the police.
Further investigations into the incident are underway, and security around the shrine has been tightened to prevent similar occurrences.
