In a shocking incident, Bannur Gram Panchayat PDO Chitravati collapsed after being struck by lightning while attempting to switch off a computer in the office.
The incident occurred on the evening of December 5, when Chitravati was powering down the office computer amid a lightning storm. A sudden lightning strike caused her to lose consciousness and collapse on the spot.
Alert members present at the Panchayat office immediately rushed her to a private hospital in Puttur for medical attention.
Local authorities are monitoring her condition, and further updates are awaited.
