Punjalkatte: A heart attack victim narrowly escaped a fatal outcome thanks to timely medical intervention, with the individuals responsible receiving public appreciation for their prompt action.

Pradeep Nayak, a resident of Maddadka, facilitated urgent treatment for Mithun, a resident of Alake in Belthangady taluk, who suffered a heart attack. Mithun was later saved due to the efforts of staff at KMC Hospital, Mangaluru.

Mithun experienced a mild heart attack, and his relatives promptly sent his ECG report to Pradeep Nayak. Pradeep, in turn, forwarded the report to renowned cardiologist Dr. Padmanabha Kamath, who recommended immediate transportation of the patient to a Mangaluru hospital.

Acting swiftly, Mithun’s relatives began their journey from Uppinangady, while Pradeep Nayak set out from his residence by bus. During the journey, Mithun’s chest pain intensified as their vehicle passed Punjalkatte. Learning of the situation, Pradeep alighted from his bus at Vagga and waited for Mithun’s car to arrive.

Pradeep carried essential emergency medications and administered them to Mithun, preventing further complications.

As the vehicle approached Mangaluru, traffic congestion delayed progress. Pradeep arranged for a KMC ambulance, ensuring Mithun reached the hospital swiftly. Remarkably, Pradeep had no prior acquaintance with Mithun, yet his dedication to saving a life was exemplary.

Dr. Padmanabha Kamath confirmed Mithun underwent a successful surgery and is recovering well. He praised Pradeep Nayak for his timely actions and commendable service.

Pradeep Nayak’s selflessness and quick response have drawn widespread admiration from the community.
