Kalaburagi: Eight arrested for stone pelting during protest

Kalaburagi: Police have arrested eight individuals, including two minors, in connection with stone pelting incidents during a protest by the Banjara community on Monday, December 9.

In a swift operation, police identified and detained the suspects overnight. During the protest, stones were hurled at vehicles and shops, damaging at least three cars and several shops, creating a tense atmosphere and instilling fear among the public.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Sagar Rathod, Rahul Rathod, Ramesh Rathod, Abhishek Rathod, Shankar Rathod, and Pradeep Pawar.

On December 3, a minor from the Banjara community was raped in the Yadrami police station limits. The accused teacher in the case has already been arrested.

Police used CCTV footage to track the stone-pelting incidents and apprehend the suspects.
