Former CM S.M. Krishna’s demise, K’taka declares three-day mourning, public holiday on Dec 11

Senior politician and former Chief Minister S.M. Krishna passed away on Tuesday morning, December 10. In light of his demise, the Karnataka government has declared a three-day state mourning as a mark of respect for the veteran leader.
Additionally, Wednesday, December 11, has been declared a public holiday in the state. Government offices, schools, and private institutions will remain closed on this day.
The state government has announced that S.M. Krishna’s funeral will be conducted with full state honors on Wednesday in his hometown, Maddur’s Somnahalli, Mandya district.
The mortal remains of the late leader will be kept at his residence in Sadashivanagar, Bengaluru, throughout Tuesday for public viewing. Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar confirmed that the final rites would take place in Mandya on Wednesday.
S.M. Krishna, known for his statesmanship and long-standing contributions to Karnataka’s political landscape, leaves behind a legacy that will be remembered for years to come.
