Chikkamagaluru: Datta Jayanti Shobhayatra begins

Chikkamagaluru: A grand Shobhayatra was organized on Friday (Dec 13) as part of the three-day Datta Jayanti celebrations hosted by Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal.
The procession was inaugurated by Legislative Council Member C.T. Ravi at the Kamadhenu Ganapati Temple premises. The event saw participation from Pramod Muthalik, National President of Sri Rama Sene, former minister D.N. Jeevaraj, and VHP leader Raghu Sakleshpur.
Starting from the Kamadhenu Ganapati Temple, the Shobhayatra proceeded through KEB Circle and Basavanahalli Road, reaching Hanumanthappa Circle, where a large crowd cheered and danced enthusiastically. People gathered on rooftops to witness the vibrant spectacle.
The procession continued via M.G. Road, passing Ande Chhatri, and culminated at Azad Park Circle. The parade featured traditional music, doll dances, and other captivating attractions.
As the procession advanced, the beats of a DJ enthralled the audience. Women, the elderly, and children joined in the celebrations with joyous dance moves.
The district police ensured tight security for the event. SP Dr. Vikram Amathe led the security arrangements, with KSRP platoons deployed in sensitive areas. The procession was monitored closely through CCTV surveillance.
