Kumble: BJP youth leader dies in road accident

Kumble (Kasaragod): A youth leader was killed in a road accident here on December 14.

The deceased has been identified as Dhanaraj Poojary (44), a resident of Pratap Nagar, Mangalpady, and an active worker of the Sangh Parivar.

The incident occurred near Bandiyod, close to Shiriya on National Highway 66, when Dhanaraj was returning home on a scooter. A car coming from the opposite direction collided with his vehicle, causing severe injuries. He succumbed to his injuries while being rushed to a private hospital in Bandiyod.

Dhanaraj, who was unmarried, is survived by his mother and two brothers. A former part-time employee with the Kerala State Transport Corporation, he later became actively involved in social and political activities. He served as the Kumble Mandal Secretary of the BJP and was a founder of the Jai Hanuman Friends Club in Pratap Nagar.

Kumble police have registered a case and are investigating the accident.
