Bantwal: Vehicle damages guardrail of Addoor Bridge

Team Udayavani, Dec 15, 2024, 11:57 AM IST

The Addoor Bridge near Polali, which had been declared unsafe for heavy vehicle movement was damaged late Saturday, December 14 after an unidentified vehicle collided with its guardrails.

Iron barriers had been installed on both sides of the bridge to prevent heavy vehicles from crossing due to its deteriorated condition.

The absence of bus services on this route, following restrictions on heavy vehicles, has caused significant inconvenience to commuters. Local residents have long been demanding alternative arrangements to address the transportation issues caused by the bridge’s poor state.

Currently, details about the vehicle responsible for the damage remain unclear, and investigations are ongoing.
