The accused, Navaraj, who got engaged to Chaitra (36) of Handadi, Brahmavar, on June 23, 2024, allegedly concealed the engagement and married another woman Nandini on July 29, 2024. On September 5, he married Chaitra as well in a ceremony at Mother’s Palace, Brahmavar.
After marrying Chaitra, he took her to his residence in Sindigere, Lakya Hobli, Chikkamagaluru district, where she was reportedly subjected to physical and mental harassment.
