In a case of theft reported from Tilak Nagar police limits, thieves decamped with gold and other valuables worth over Rs 50 lakhs from the residence of a real estate businessman.
The victim Nagaraj, has been residing with his family in an apartment at Jayanagar 4th Block for the past two years.
On December 13, Nagaraj and his family had gone to Mantralaya after locking the apartment. When they returned on Sunday night, they found that the front door was broken. Valuables, including 500 grams of gold ornaments, silver items, and cash were missing from the cupboard.
CCTV footage from the apartment captured visuals of the burglars entering the premises. Notably, the apartment’s security guard had resigned six months ago, and no new security guard had been appointed.
Police suspect the involvement of individuals familiar with the family’s financial dealings and their trip to Mantralaya.
Tilak Nagar Police have registered a case and are using CCTV footage to trace the suspects.
This report highlights two key stories: a call for government support for the cultural Kambala sport and a significant burglary case involving high-value gold theft in Bengaluru.
