Mangaluru: Helicopter rides launched as part of Karavali Utsava

Mangaluru: In a first-of-its-kind initiative at the Karavali Utsava, helicopter rides have been introduced to offer breathtaking aerial views of the coastal region. The service was inaugurated on Saturday morning at the Mary Hill Helipad by Padma Shri awardee Harekala Hajabba.
Speaking on the occasion, Harekala Hajabba appreciated the district administration’s efforts in organizing the Karavali Utsav and facilitating the unique helicopter rides. He expressed pride in being part of the initiative that brings coastal beauty to life from a new perspective.
Aerial Tour of Mangaluru: ‘Kudla High’
Deputy Commissioner Dr. M.P. Mullai Muhilan stated that the helicopter rides, branded as ‘Kudla High,’ aim to provide a panoramic view of Mangaluru city. “From the air, visitors can witness the city’s natural beauty, including rivers, the coastline, and urban development. This initiative is expected to boost tourism in the region by offering a unique perspective of Mangaluru’s charm,” he said.
Service Details
The helicopter rides will be available from December 21 to December 29, departing from the Mary Hill Helipad. Each trip accommodates six passengers, providing an exclusive opportunity to explore the scenic beauty of the coastline and the city.

The inauguration event was graced by several dignitaries, including Padma Shri awardee Amai Mahalinga Naik, Mangaluru Police Commissioner Anupam Agrawal, Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr. G Santosh Kumar, and Deputy Conservator of Forests Anthony Mariyappa.
The service has generated excitement among locals and tourists alike, adding to the festive spirit of the Karavali Utsav. The initiative is expected to attract significant attention, showcasing the region’s natural splendor and contributing to the growth of tourism in coastal Karnataka.
