Kundapura: Body of drowning victim found after jet ski incident

The body of a man who went missing after a jet ski boat capsized at Trasi Beach was found on Monday, December 23 morning.
The deceased has been identified as Rohidas (45).
On Saturday evening, the jet ski boat of a tourist capsized near Trasi Beach, causing Rohidas to fall into the sea. The tourist, who was wearing a life jacket, was safely brought ashore but the body of Rohidas was not found immediately. Nearly 36 hours after the incident, his body was discovered near the seashore behind the Hosapete burial ground.
Local fishermen spotted the body floating in the sea around 3 AM on Monday while heading out for fishing. They promptly informed a member of the local coastal surveillance team, who joined them in retrieving the body from the sea. The police were subsequently informed.
Ibrahim Gangolli from the Gangolli 24×7 ambulance service, along with Nishant Kharvi, Suresh Koderi, and Rohidas’s colleagues, assisted in transporting the body to the shore. The Gangolli police visited the site and arranged for the body to be transported to the Kundapur Government Hospital’s mortuary for further procedures.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
