Alnavar: TT-Canter truck collision claims three lives

Three people were killed following a collision between a Tempo Traveller (TT) and a canter truck near Kadabagatti village in Alnavar taluk on the Dharwad-Goa highway in the wee hours of Monday.

The occupants in the canter truck identified as Hanumanth Mallad (36), Mahantesh Chavhan (35), and Mahadevappa Halolli (35) died on the spot while another person sustained severe injuries and has been hospitalized. Passengers in the Tempo Traveller also sustained injuries and are undergoing treatment.

The collision occurred around 2 am when the canter truck, traveling from Sirasangi in Savadatti to Goa, overturned on a curve and crashed into the oncoming Tempo Traveller.

Dharwad police personnel, including SP Gopala Byakod, rushed to the scene and arranged for the transportation of the injured to the hospital.
