PDO arrested for accepting bribe in Shivamogga

Shivamogga: A Panchayat Development Officer (PDO) from Induvalli village in Soraba taluk was arrested by Lokayukta police on Tuesday, December 24, morning for accepting a bribe.

The PDO, identified as Ishwarappa, allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 5,000 from Mohammad Ghouse to change the land Khata from his father’s name to his mother’s name.

The bribe was paid by Ghouse on Tuesday morning near the Soraba Post Office, where Ishwarappa was caught red-handed by Lokayukta Inspector Suresh and his team. The PDO was arrested and is currently under investigation.

Lokayukta police are conducting further inquiries into the case.
