Kundapura: Christmas celebrations bring cheer at Sujnan PU College

Christmas, the festival of sharing love, celebrated with grandeur

Thekkatte: Creating a joyful environment for students along with education is essential, said Rev. Fr. Albert Crasta, Parish Priest of St. Pius Church, Hangal. Speaking at the Christmas celebrations organized by Kundapura Sujnan PU College, Vidyaranya (Little Star) English Medium School, and units of Sujnan Educational Trust, he highlighted the essence of Christmas as a celebration of divine love and peace, a message brought to the world by Lord Jesus Christ. He added that Christmas symbolizes the sharing of divinity and teaches the importance of human values, spirituality, and virtues. Stressing that love can achieve everything, he said that where there is love, there is peace and harmony, making Christmas the festival of sharing love.

Judith Mendonca, a syndicate member of Mangalore University, praised the founders of Sujnan Educational Trust for establishing an institution in rural areas. She noted that overcoming challenges, the Trust has set a benchmark in education and become a beacon of hope for numerous students. She also reflected on the historical significance of Jesus Christ, who eradicated superstitions and brought intellectual transformation to society.

The event was presided over by Dr. Ramesh Shetty, President of Sujnan Educational Trust. He remarked that the institution focuses on value-based education that builds character and fosters good intentions among students. He expressed gratitude for the blessings and support of elders and well-wishers in the community, which have contributed to the growth of the institution in rural areas.

The celebration featured a striking Christmas crib that creatively depicted the nativity scene, captivating the audience. Students dressed as Santa Claus distributed sweets, spreading cheer. Cultural performances by students further enlivened the festive atmosphere.
