Bengaluru: Hennur police have arrested a 47-year-old serial burglar, Mohammad Khan, for targeting locked homes and stealing valuables.

Khan, a resident of Saraiyipalya, was found in possession of 556 grams of gold and 1.2 kg of silver worth ₹40 lakh. He was involved in a burglary on July 20 in Challakere near Hennur, where he broke into a locked house and stole cash and jewelry. Based on a complaint, the police launched an investigation, leading to his arrest.

Acting on a tip-off, the police apprehended Khan on December 8 near HBR Layout 4th Block. Upon searching his bag, they found tools used for housebreaking. During interrogation, Khan confessed to the crimes and revealed that he had handed over the stolen valuables to a friend in Kunigal.

A professional thief with over two decades of criminal history, Khan has 11 cases of housebreaking registered against him at Hennur police station alone.

Despite previous arrests and jail time, he continued his criminal activities after being released on bail. Police have linked his arrest to solving multiple pending burglary cases.
