Kundapur: Passenger suffers heart attack on bus, prompt action saves life

Kundapur: A passenger traveling on an express bus from the new Kundapur bus stand to Udupi suffered a severe heart attack on Wednesday, December 25, prompting quick action by the bus staff.
Venkat, a resident of Kota, collapsed due to a sudden cardiac arrest while seated in the Samatha bus near a school on the main road. Noticing his condition, the conductor informed the driver, Ritesh, who immediately diverted the bus to a nearby hospital.
With assistance from local auto drivers, Venkat was quickly admitted to the hospital, where doctors provided initial treatment.
He was later shifted via ambulance to a private hospital in Manipal for advanced care.
The swift response by the bus driver and conductor earned widespread praise from the public for their timely action, which potentially saved the passenger’s life.
