Belthangady: Distorted image of Lord Bahubali shared on social media; case filed

A case has been registered at the Venur Police Station accusing a person of distorting the image Of Lord Bahubali Swamy and sharing it on social media thereby defaming Jainism
The complainant Paniraj, a Kalmanja resident alleged that a Vijaya Naravi of Naravi village edited the image of Lord Bahubali Swamy by adding a human face and depicting him in inappropriate attire. She reportedly shared the altered image through her Facebook account and WhatsApp on December 20.
The complaint further alleges that the accused has repeatedly posted derogatory messages and content targeting Jainism and its followers on social media. The actions are said to have hurt the sentiments of the Jain community and disrespected the sanctity of Jainism, a religion rooted in non-violence and universal values.
The police are investigating the incident, and legal action is being pursued.
