Villagers appeal to deity after police halt Rooster fight in Kattapadi

Kattapadi: Local leaders sought the intervention of deity Vyaghra Chamundi after police disrupted a traditional rooster fight on December 22 in Udyavara Kuthpadi.
The rooster fight was part of the annual Nemotsava at Sri Brahma Baidarkala and Vyaghra Chamundi Garodi, which took place on December 10.
On December 22 afternoon the rooster fight began as part of a ritual to offer blood sacrifice to the deity, but was halted shortly after by the police.
In response, on December 25, the village leaders, along with locals and devotees, gathered at the temple to report the incident to Vyaghra Chamundi.
Expressing concerns over the disruption of tradition and praying for protection from any resulting misfortune. They sought blessings for the smooth conduct of future rituals and community harmony.
