Bidar: Two police personnel from Gandhi Ganj Police Station in Bidar, have been suspended for negligence in duty in connection with the suicide of a young contractor.
The suspended officers are Head Constable Rajesh Chelva and Constable Shamala.
On Thursday, December 26, Sachin Panchal (26), a native of Tungadakatti in Bhalki Taluk, committed suicide by lying on railway tracks. He left behind a death note accusing Raju Kapanur, an associate of Rural Development Minister Priyank Kharge, and his gang of extortion.
The note reportedly states that he had paid money to Kapanur and his associates for a tender but they were demanding an additional crore rupees and issued threats to his life
When Sachin went missing, his family attempted to file a complaint at the Gandhi Ganj Police Station.
However, the suspended officers reportedly neglected their duty and refused to register the complaint. This has led to their suspension, confirmed SP Pradeep Gunti.
