Vitla: Accident on national highway claims 6-year-old boy’s life; Couple critically injured

Vitla: A 6-year-old boy was killed, and a couple was injured in a collision between a motorbike and a lorry near Jogibettu, Gadiyar, on the Mangaluru-Bengaluru National Highway on Sunday (Dec 29).
The deceased has been identified as Shazin (6), a resident of Gardadi Marakkini, Belthangady. The accident happened when Hasanabba Beary, his wife Naseema, and their son Shazin were riding their bike from Kalladka towards Uppinangady. A lorry coming from the opposite direction collided with the two-wheeler.
All three were thrown off the bike and sustained serious injuries. Passersby rushed to help and took Shazin to the Bantwal Government Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. Hasanabba and Naseema were admitted to a hospital in Thumbay for further treatment.
A case has been registered at the Vitla Police Station.
