Kalaburgi: A sugarcane-laden truck fell off a bridge into the Bhima River between Itaga and Ganagapur in the early hours of Tuesday, December 31.
The truck, en route to a sugar factory near Choudapur in Afzalpur taluk, veered off the bridge. The driver remains missing, and authorities fear he may have drowned.
Police officials, including CPI Channayya Hiremar, PSI Rahul Pawade, and fire department personnel, are on-site conducting rescue operations to recover the truck.
