Udupi: Guru Vandana program for Palimaru Matha seer to be held on January 4

As part of the Vishwarpanam 35 event, a Guru Vandana ceremony will be held to honor Sri Vidyadheesha Teertha Swamiji of Palimaru Matha. The event, organized under the guidance of Sri Vishwapriya Teertha Swamiji and Sri Eeshapriya Teertha Swamiji of Adamaru Math, will take place on January 4 at 2:30 PM at Poornaprajna Auditorium, Udupi.

Special address on Bangladesh

Renowned thinker and scholar Meenakshi Shaharawat, known for her in-depth study of Sanatana Dharma, will deliver a special lecture on the topic “Lessons from Bangladesh,” shedding light on current developments in the region.

Cultural and Honorary Highlights

The program will begin with a musical performance by noted singer Nandini Pune. The event will also include a Guru Vandana ceremony for Sri Vidyadheesha Teertha Swamiji, following similar tributes previously held for Sri Vishwapriya Teertha Swamiji of Adamaru Math and Sri Vishwaprasanna Teertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math.

Narahariteertha award presentation

The prestigious Narahariteertha Award, instituted by Sri Eeshapriya Teertha Swamiji during his Paryaya tenure to honor exceptional contributions in Yakshagana, will be conferred upon Shri Sridhara Mahabaleshwara Shadakshari of Anegundi Katagala, Kumta Taluk. The award carries a cash prize of Rs 50,000 and commemorates the legacy of Sri Narahariteertha, a direct disciple of Acharya Madhva and a pioneer of Yakshagana art.

Additionally, distinguished achievers Dr. G.S. Chandrashekar, Dr. Vineet Anand Bhadravati, and Muralidhar Hatwar Belur will be felicitated during the event.

Sri Vidyarajeshwara Teertha Swamiji, the junior seer of Palimaru Math, will also grace the occasion. The event is organized by the Sri Krishna Seva Balaga, according to their press release.
