Mangaluru: Accused arrested in medical shop robbery case

Mangaluru: The police have arrested a man in connection with the robbery at a medical shop in Naguri.

The accused has been identified as Sunil (31), a resident of Patrakodi near Bondel Church.

The accused had allegedly threatened a female employee at the shop by brandishing a knife and assaulting her before stealing Rs 19,300 from the shop’s cash drawer.

The incident occurred on December 28, prompting the police to form a special team to investigate and recover the stolen property. During the operation, the police seized Rs 17,500 in cash, the scooter used in the robbery, and other assets, collectively valued at Rs 1.2 lakh.

The operation was led by Kankanady Town Police Station Inspector T.D. Nagaraj, along with PSI Vinayak Bhavikatti, Shivakumar, and other police staff.
