Bengaluru: A Bengaluru court on Saturday (January 4) granted bail to the wife, mother-in-law, and brother-in-law of techie Atul Subhash, who died by suicide in a case that stirred nationwide attention.
Atul Subhash, on December 9, left behind a detailed death note accusing his wife and her family of harassment before ending his life. Following the incident, the police arrested his wife Nikita Singhania, her mother Nisha Singhania, and her brother Anurag Singhania. The trio had filed a bail application in the Bengaluru Sessions Court.
The Karnataka High Court had earlier directed the Sessions Court to expedite the hearing and dispose of the bail plea at the earliest. Acting on these directions, the Sessions Court granted bail to the accused today.
Nikita Singhania was arrested on December 14 in Gurugram, while her mother and brother were apprehended in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.
