Kannada actress Ramya appeared in court on Tuesday, January 7, regarding a dispute over the use of her scenes in the film “Hostel Hudugaru Bekagiddare,” which was released on July 21, 2023. The actress alleged that her scenes were used without her permission.

Ramya had issued a legal notice to the filmmakers, demanding the removal of her scenes from the film and filed a petition to halt the movie’s release. An urgent hearing was held by the court and her petition was dismissed, allowing the film to be released smoothly.

Ramya made a guest appearance in the movie, and her scenes were included in the trailer. Speculations about her return to the film industry after a long hiatus gained traction, creating buzz around the film. The use of her scenes in the trailer was seen as a promotional advantage for the movie.

Following the trailer’s release, Ramya claimed that her scenes were used without consent and sought compensation of Rs1 crore. She filed a case against the filmmakers, leading to the current court proceedings.

Ramya attended the commercial court hearing with her legal team, armed with relevant documents to support her claims.

Directed by Nithin Krishnamurthy, “Hostel Hudugaru Bekagiddare” was distributed by Rakshit Shetty’s Paramvah Studios. The case continues to draw attention as it unfolds in court.
