Surathkal: Three friends swept away by waves at Hosabettu beach, one rescued

Surathkal: Four friends who went for a swim at Hosabettu beach on Wednesday, January 8, were swept away by strong waves. One of them was rescued.
The four friends had reportedly arrived on a holiday. Two of them — identified as Satyavelu (30) from JP Nagar, Bengaluru; and Shivakumar from Shivamogga — are confirmed dead. Their bodies have been recovered and sent to AJ Hospital for further procedures.
The search is ongoing for the missing person, identified as Manjunath S (31), son of Shivalingappa, from Guli Hosahalli, Upparigenahalli, Chitradurga district.
Among the four only Parameshwar (30), son of Vishwambar from Hangaraga, Bidar district, survived the incident.
The incident occurred in the jurisdiction of the Surathkal police station, and a case has been registered.
