Yakshagana Academy Announces Annual Awards

Bengaluru: The Karnataka Yakshagana Academy has announced its annual awards for 2024. Tenkutittu Yakshagana artist, Mambady Subrahmanya Bhat of Bantwal, has been selected for the prestigious Parthisubba Award, informed Academy President Dr. Tallur Shivaram Shetty.

The 2024 Honorary Awards will be conferred on the following individuals:

  • Koltige Narayana Gowda from Belthangady
  • Kodi Vishwanatha Ganiga from Kundapura
  • Raghava Das from Bantwal
  • Subraya Holla from Bantwal
  • Kantaraju from Tumakuru

Yakshasiri Awards will be presented to 10 senior artists:

  1. Adka Gopalakrishna Bhat (Arthadhari, Kasaragod)
  2. Jagannath Acharya Ellampalli (Badagutittu Yakshagana Artist)
  3. Mavvaru Balakrishna Maniyani (Comedian, Kasaragod)
  4. Umesh Kuppepadavu (Costume Artist, Tenkutittu, Mangaluru)
  5. Shivananda Geejagaaru (Female Role Artist, Shivamogga)
  6. Mugva Ganesh Naik (Female Role Artist, Honnavar)
  7. Surendra Malli (Female Role Artist, Tenkutittu, Mangaluru)
  8. Andala Deviprasad Shetty (Yakshagana Writer and Bhagavatha, Mangaluru)
  9. Krishnappa Moodalapaya (Yakshagana Artist, Bengaluru Rural)
  10. Haluvali Jyoti (Both Tenkutittu and Badagutittu, Chikkamagaluru)

Endowment Award:
The Karki Senior Paramaiah Comedian Award for 2024 will be presented to Kargallu Vishweshwara Bhat (Tenkutittu Yakshagana, Bantwal).

The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on February 16 at Kalaranga Auditorium, Udupi.
