Bengaluru: A man was stabbed to death by his son-in-law while attempting to mediate a domestic dispute in the Chandra Layout police station limits.

The deceased, identified as Alla Bakash (56), was trying to resolve a quarrel between his daughter and son-in-law, Salim Pasha.

According to reports, Salim Pasha, who had been involved in an altercation outside on January 8, returned home and allegedly argued with his wife, leading to a heated dispute.

Alla Bakash, who was present at the time, stepped in to defuse the situation.

During the altercation, Salim Pasha reportedly attacked his father-in-law and wife with a knife. Severely injured, Alla Bakash’s cries for help alerted neighbors, who rushed to the scene.

The accused attempted to attack the neighbors as well before fleeing the spot. Alla Bakash was immediately rushed to Victoria Hospital for treatment but succumbed to his injuries on Friday morning.

The daughter and a neighbor, who also sustained injuries, are currently undergoing treatment. The Chandra Layout police have registered a case and launched a search operation to apprehend the absconding accused.
