Hubballi: BJP MP Jagadish Shettar predicted the collapse of the Karnataka Congress government amid intensifying internal conflicts over the Chief Minister’s position.
Speaking to reporters on Saturday, January 11, Shettar alleged that the tussle for the CM’s chair has reached new heights, with disagreements escalating within the party.
He claimed that the recent dinner meeting held for MLAs and ministers belonging to Scheduled Castes and Tribes was disrupted by Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar.
Shettar further alleged that Shivakumar, suspecting internal conspiracies against him, performed a “Shatru Samhara Yaga” to counter his adversaries within the party. According to Shettar, the internal strife within Congress will soon spill into the public domain.
On the issue of Naxal surrenders, Shettar criticized the government, stating that there was no need for grand celebrations. He remarked that the Naxals should have surrendered before the Chikkamagaluru Deputy Commissioner instead of making a public display before the Chief Minister, calling it inappropriate.
Shettar also warned that the Congress government would be held accountable if any harm comes to BJP leader and Legislative Council member C.T. Ravi.
