Kasaragod: In a bid to pray for world peace, two devotees of Lord Ayyappa undertook an extraordinary 8,000-kilometer walk from Badrinath in North India to Sabarimala. According to the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB), their remarkable journey, lasting 223 days, concluded on Saturday.
Sanathkumar Nayak and Sampath Kumar Shetty, residents of Kasaragod district, embarked on this spiritual journey on May 26, 2024, from Badrinath. They began their walk on June 3.
During their journey, the duo visited several temples, including the four Mathas established by Adi Shankaracharya. In some places, they partook in temple offerings, while in others, they prepared their own food.
Their pilgrimage passed through significant locations like Ayodhya, Ujjain, Dwarka, Puri, Rameswaram, Achankovil, and Erumely before reaching the Ayyappa shrine at Sabarimala.
