Gundlupete: Illegal cannabis cultivation busted; One arrested

Police in Terdal taluk’s Kodasoge village arrested a man for illegally cultivating cannabis on his farmland. The arrest took place on Thursday, January 16, after officers from the Ternakanambi police station conducted a raid based on a tip-off.
The accused, identified as Ramesh (49), had reportedly been growing cannabis plants without proper authorization. Acting on credible information, a team led by Sub-Inspector Mahesh raided the farmland near the village road and apprehended the suspect.
The seized cannabis plant, measuring approximately 5.5 feet in height, was found to be well-nurtured and flowering with cannabis buds. During interrogation, Ramesh admitted that he had cultivated the plant with the intent to sell it.
The operation involved police personnel including Bangaranaika, Krishna, Raghavendra Shetty, Suresh, Siddaramegowda, and Shivaprasad. The accused has been taken into custody, and further investigations are underway.
