Renukaswamy’s father, Mr. Shivanagowdru, has refuted claims circulating on social media that actor Darshan extended financial assistance to their family. Addressing a press conference at his residence in VRS Layout, Chitradurga, on Thursday (January 16), he expressed deep distress over the baseless rumors.
“For several days, posts on Facebook have been claiming that we met Darshan or that he visited us, provided financial help, or that we visited some shed and collected money from him. None of this is true,” clarified Shivanagowdru.
He further added, “We have not met him, nor has he met us. Yet, these false narratives have caused us significant distress. People have been calling us repeatedly to inquire about these rumors, and we want to make it clear that we have not received even a single penny from anyone.”
Dismissing claims that the family had purchased a car, Shivanagowdru said, “There are posts alleging we booked a car, but we couldn’t even afford to repair our old scooter. These falsehoods have become widespread due to Facebook. This has brought us pain, and we want to clarify the truth to the people of Karnataka.”
On a related note, Shivanagowdru welcomed the government’s decision to file an appeal in the Supreme Court. “We are grateful to the government for taking this step. However, we had requested a government job for my daughter-in-law, which was denied. This rejection has been a significant blow to us,” he said.
He expressed concerns about the future of his daughter-in-law and grandchild, fearing they may face severe financial difficulties.
The family has urged the public and media to verify facts before believing or sharing such claims on social media, emphasizing the emotional toll such misinformation has taken on them.
